U-GO Guest Conduct Guidelines

House rules

Your hotel is full of people who'd probably be glad to have company. U-GO helps you find them. A few rules keep that working for everyone.

1. Getting in, staying in

You get into your hotel's community by scanning the QR code on-site — that's how U-GO knows you're actually there. Access lasts 10 days; after that, you re-scan the same QR code in person to stay verified. There's no ID check, no booking lookup — the whole system runs on this light trust model, which is exactly why the rules below matter.

Your U-GO account isn't tied to one hotel or one trip. It stays with you.

2. How to behave

3. Moderation — what actually happens

U-GO doesn't read every message. Event chats run on two things: a basic automatic filter (catches obvious spam and profanity) and reports from guests. Nobody proactively reviews conversations that haven't been flagged.

If you report something, be aware: the hotel's staff may see the full conversation for that event — not just the message you flagged, the whole thread. That's intentional (moderators need context to make a fair call), but it means reporting isn't anonymous-and-invisible to the room; it opens the door to a staff read of the whole chat. Say what you need to say knowing that.

4. Block vs. removal from a hotel — two different things

These sound similar but aren't:

If someone's behavior crosses a line: block them, and report it. Don't rely on one hotel's ban to protect you somewhere else — it only applies at that hotel.

5. Conduct ratings — what they are, and what they aren't

After an event you attended, you can rate how the other guest behaved at that event — not their looks, their personality, or their profile in general. This is a behavior signal tied to a specific shared event, nothing more.

A few things worth knowing before you use it:

If you think a rating you received was unfair, retaliatory, or discriminatory, report it the same way you'd report a message — it's reviewed by a moderator at the hotel where the event took place, who has to write down their reasoning before closing it out.

6. If things go wrong

You can report a message, a person, an event, or a rating you believe is unfair. The outcome might be: a message removed, a guest blocked by you, or a guest banned from that specific hotel by its staff.

U-GO is a place to discover people already around you — it doesn't organize the events you join, and it isn't a guarantee of anyone's behavior at them. Use the same judgment you'd use meeting anyone new.
